Monday, 9 January
7:30 – 8 am
Introduction to Mindfulness
Rebecca will introduce and explain the concept of mindfulness and offer the latest research around the benefits of the practice such as decreasing anxiety and depression and improving sleep. Participants will be introduced to several different practices of mindfulness such as meditation, breathing, and stretching, and will receive tips and guidance on how and when to practice during the day to ensure success. Participants will learn very practical techniques and strategies to cope with stress, to regulate emotions, to heal past hurts, and to embrace change which empower them to take action to increase their mental health and fitness.

Tuesday, 10 January
7:30 – 8 am
Meditation Practice
Decades of research now unequivocally show the significant benefits of meditation for both mind and body health. A regular practice of meditation improves cognitive functioning, which leads to improved performance in the workplace. In this session, myths around meditation will be debunked and participants will be guided through a
meditation practice that will help them start the day with a clear and focused mind. Mental fitness requires ongoing practice in the same way that physical fitness does, and participants will leave feeling empowered to practice mindfulness in their everyday lives. Wednesday, 11 January 8:15 – 8:45 am Learning to Breathe Better Changing the way you breathe can change your life. In this session, participants will learn some basic science around breathing and why learning to breathe better is important. They will be guided through a variety of basic breathing practices and techniques that will introduce them to the power of the breath to improve mental and physical health. Breathing is a powerful, readily available relaxation tool that can divert the acute stress response and return the nervous system to its relaxed, restful state. A regular practice of breathing exercises has been shown to reduce anxiety, high blood pressure, depression, PTSD, anger, tension and chronic pain. Thursday, 12 January 7:30 – 8 am Path to Happiness This session will provide the latest evidence-based research on factors that contribute to happiness as determined by the fields of neuroscience and positive psychology. Rebecca will introduce the top 8 factors that most influence overall personal happiness, such as cultivating positivity and practicing gratitude, and will offer practical strategies on how to boost the hormones of happiness and contentment daily. Research clearly indicates that we can override the brain’s default mechanisms towards negativity and become happier people.
